# Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026

## About these terms
These terms apply to use of this website and to roofing work carried out by Alex Smith, trading as Alex Mac Roofing, 5 Gray St, Elsecar, Barnsley S74 8JR.

## Quotes
Surveys and quotes are free and carry no obligation. A written quote sets out the work included. If hidden problems are found once work starts (for example rotten timbers under the covering), I will show you and agree any extra cost with you before carrying it out.

## Guarantees
Full re-roofs carry a 10-year guarantee and repairs carry a 12-month guarantee, covering the workmanship described in your quote. Guarantees don't cover damage from storms, accidents, third-party work or lack of reasonable maintenance.

## Insurance
I hold £2 million public liability insurance.

## Access and weather
You agree to provide reasonable access to the property. Roofing work depends on the weather, and start dates may move for safety reasons; I'll keep you informed.

## Cancellation
If you agree a contract at your home, you may have a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. If you ask for work to start within that period, you may be charged for work already done.

## Website
Information on this website is general guidance. I aim to keep it accurate but it does not form part of any contract.

## Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Your statutory rights are not affected.
