Tankersley is a small village with older stone houses and cottages alongside later homes, plus nearby Pilley. Being on higher, more open ground, some roofs here catch the wind more than those in the valleys, so ridges, verges and flashing get a close look during every survey. You get a free survey with photos, a clear written quote, and me doing the work myself. I want every Tankersley roof I work on to be one the owner is happy to recommend. ### One person, start to finish I do the survey, the quote and the work myself, so on your Tankersley roof you deal with the person actually doing the job. ### Local and close by Tankersley is a short drive from my base in Elsecar, so getting out to survey or check on a job isn't a special trip. ### Guarantees in writing Full re-roofs come with a 10-year guarantee and repairs are covered for 12 months. ### Fully insured, photo reports I hold £2m public liability insurance, and every survey comes with photos so you can see your roof's condition for yourself. ## Common roofing problems in Tankersley These are the issues I see most on Tankersley roofs. ### Wind-lifted ridges and verges Exposed roofs lose ridge tiles and verge mortar in strong winds. I rebed or dry-fix ridges and verges so they stay put. ### Failed flashing Lead or mortar flashing around chimneys and walls cracks and lets water in. I replace it with properly fitted lead. ### Ageing felt under the tiles On older roofs the felt underneath can perish, even when the tiles look fine. I check it during the survey and tell you honestly whether it needs doing.
